Sarah Anfora, MFA, is a yoga and meditation educator, visiting R&R faculty member at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, yoga teacher trainer and mentor, and she is passionate about helping you feel empowered to live your best life. 

Sarah received her 200hr yoga teaching certification from the Bright Spirit Yoga Training under the tutelage of Jillian Pransky and Carrie Parker-Gastelu. She went on the receive her 500hr yoga teaching certification from Kripalu in Lenox, Massachusetts, studying with Coby Kozlowski, Sudhir Jonathan Foust, Larissa Hall Carlson, and Michelle Dalbec. Sarah has also taken trainings in meditation, Journey Dance, ecstatic dance, ayurveda, and positional therapy. She has completed Janet Stone's courses in The Yoga Sutras and Bhakti Yoga. Sarah holds an E-RYT200, RYT 500, and YACEP from Yoga Alliance.
Sarah has worked as an elementary and middle school teacher for the past several years. Now more than ever, Sarah's work as an educator provides her with hope and passion to create a more equitable and compassionate world. She attended Harvard University's School of Education and Teacher's College at Columbia University. Working with Learning for Justice (formerly Teaching Tolerance) of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Sarah took part in a small committee of teachers committed to implementing changes to curriculum and culture at her school. Sarah has also worked with the Gender & Family Project at The Ackermann Institute, where she dove deep into broadening her understanding of sex, gender, human sexuality, and acceptance. Sarah holds a K-6 Teaching Certification with the State of New Jersey. She also holds a CE in Theatre Arts through the State of New Jersey.

In 2011, Sarah received her MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. While studying "the Method," Sarah gained a new perspective on the mind-body connection. Her work allowed her to experience first-hand that the physical body serves as a vessel for the spirit and it should be treated with the utmost respect. Sarah performs in theaters all over the NJ/NY area.

Sarah is also a singer, actor (SAG-AFTRA/Equity), musician, photographer, dancer, clown, amateur baker, jewelry maker, animal enthusiast...and lover of life.
